On Monday night, Dec. 14, public comment sank to a new low, without response from the City Council, on comparing the Nazi Holocaust to the discussion of the Council agenda formatting, the main subject of the evening’s overall agenda.
For too many years, people claiming to be righteous have taken the victims of Nazi Germany’s concentration camps and demeaned them.
Routinely, they have introduced these Six Nillion murders into discussions on almost any topic where they feel they can gain sympathy by comparing actions of elected bodies to genocide.
My family suffered losses in the Nazi genocide of World War II, grandparents, aunts, and cousins.
I do not speak of that.
Most of my friends may not even know that about my family.
It is when people claim to be righteous and defending the rights of the public by comparing an agenda item on public input to genocide that my disgust comes out.
Through my family’s experiences, I know where the evil of our society really lies.
I judge people by their words and actions.
To Egon Montesory, who spoke last week,I say:
You are below judging in my heart and mind.
I know some of your political friends will attempt to come forth and defend your actions or, maybe worse, remain silent.
Your comments, in my opinion, were far worse than the question that Dee Seehusen placed in the newspapers that caused her to receive her termination action from the City Council.
