Please join us on Wednesday, Dec. 12, for the Culver City Democratic Club's Holiday Celebration and Silent Auction with special guest Betty Yee.
The evening will be at our regular meeting space, the Rotunda Room of the Vets Auditorium, starting at 6:45. It will feature a mixer, refreshments and the silent auction, where you will be able to bid on fantastic items, including movie passes, resort packages, artwork, services and more. All proceeds benefit the Culver City Democratic Club.
Ms. Yee, a member of the State Board of Equalization, is a Democratic candidate for state Controller in 2014.
A native of San Francisco, her immigrant parents owned and operated a laundry and dry cleaning business for 30 years. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in sociology from the University of California, Berkeley, and her Master's in public administration from Golden Gate University, San Francisco. She is on the board of the Cal Alumni Assn.
Ms. Yee represents the First Equalization District and its 21 counties in northern and central California. During her 25 years in public service, she has specialized in state and local finance. Ms. Yee previously was Chief Deputy Director for Budget with the state Dept. of Finance where she led the development of the governor’s budget, negotiations with the Legislature and key budget stakeholders, and fiscal analyses of legislation on behalf of the Administration. Earlier, she held senior staff positions on fiscal and policy committees in both houses of the Legislature.
Ms. Yee has been an advocate for underserved and underrepresented communities, including the Asian Pacific Islander American community where she secured state funding for projects in San Francisco, San Jose, Sacramento, and Los Angeles and helped establish the state Commission on Asian and Pacific Islander American Affairs.

8:15 – Silent auction ends, and the party continues.
