Re “Life and Death at Cash ‘n Carry — Trying to Save the Store” and “Neighbors Mobilize Over Tower — but One Already Is Nearby

Herb and I just read the interview with Dan Israely, the owner of Cash ‘n Carry.

We feel very sorry to hear about his business going down the tubes.

My mother had a saying, “My heart bleeds from the bottom of my tuchas.”

Mr. Israely is, indeed, in trouble with his business.

He is grabbing at straws to stay afloat.

Life is hard in this recession we are in.

Many bigger and better businesses are going under at this very moment.

We feel it is very wrong for him to go to extremes by putting a T-Mobile tower in our neighborhood and near schools that will radiate microwave in all directions.

If he were smart, knowing he is losing money every week, he would give his workers a bonus and/or retirement, then walk away from the business before he comes down with ulcers.

The alternative, if the Tower is approved by the city and constructed, is that Mr. Israely and his employees will be sitting at ground zero/red zone.

Just like the rest of us on Stevens Avenue and at El Rincon School.

There is no rhyme or reason for what he wants to do. Except to save his rear end from going under. Which will probably happen.

We also weren’t in agreement with Mayor Andy Weissman’s statement about safety and the towers.

He is not a microwave engineer or tech. And yet he says microwave cannot harm anyone. I know better because I have to live with my microwave radiation and a brain tumor which was caused by it.

As for last night’s meeting about the proposed cell phone tower for our Stevens Avenue neighborhood, everything went well.

We were quite surprised and pleased to see how many people showed up.

If the city okays the permit, which we hope that they will reject, they will leave us with no choice but to hire an attorney and sue T-Mobile, the city of Culver City and Cash 'n Carry.

We have lived in this house for 34 years.

What they propose to do with their antenna's radiation of our home and schools would be very detrimental to our health.

Especially for my husband Herb. He has had surgery to remove a meningeorma tumor on the right side of his brain.

The orginial tumor came from working with microwave testing and systems at Hughes Aircraft. Herb has seen hundreds of his co-workers over the years come down with different types of cancer. His best buddy, who was his supervisor, died from bone cancer.

He orginally told Herb not to worry.Microwaves cannot harm anyone.

Herb is still here but the supervisor isn't, and neither are his co-workers who were all diagnosed with cancer.

Herb sent an email to everyone, urging them not to believe the government when they say microwaves cannot harm anyone.

If that is true, why are people are so afraid of getting brain cancer from the tiny cell phones when the city may issue a permit to put up BIG microwave dishes over a residential area and near a local school?
