[Editor’s Note: The following letter, by the mother of a special education student, is addressed to Robert Zirgulis, whose letter, apparently in the mother’s defense, appeared in yesterday’s edition.]
Re “He Objects to Cutting Off the Microphone”
Please note my correction to Robert Zirgulis’s statement regarding the money. I hold all legal invoices paid to the law firm Fagen Friedman & Fulfrost by the Culver City Unified School District and can prove these expenditures in excess of one million over the past five years.
To avoid coverage of this waste of public funds and this corruption would be irresponsible journalism.
To Robert Zirgulis @<zirgulisr@yahoo.com>
Robert, that was $100,000 for one month.
Financial records from CCUSD reflect in the millions spent on Fagen, Friedman & Fulfrost for litigation only against special ed students since my child was diagnosed with autism in 2005.
I would so appreciate you and any members of our community to make public comment about this at the Sept. 8 School Board meeting.
I will be there, will comment, and will be shooting for my film. We want lots of community members to speak out and demand that this Board cease retaliating against special ed families in Culver City with lawyers.
