Leader, David Mielke, makes a strong point about its influence in getting CCUSD union-backed candidates elected to the School Board on Nov. 8.

Voters generally trust teachers because they are in the classroom every day.

According to official campaign financial disclosure reports with the County of Los Angeles, the California Teachers Assn. Political Action Committee (CTA) gave a significant contribution to Nancy Goldberg, but not to Laura Chardiet.  Only a local union, such as the CCFT, can request CTA campaign funds for School Board candidates.

Did the CCFT leader think Mrs. Chardiet couldn't win the election?

At least Mrs. Chardiet doesn't have to curry favor to the union when contract negotiations are up for discussions.

Let's hope Mrs. Goldberg isn't pressured to give in to union demands because she was the beneficiary of union money.

Thirty pieces of silver isn't worth our children's future.
