At Least We Can Wish Happy Thanksgiving from Culver Crest

[Editor’s Note: An email last night from the President of the Culver Crest Neighborhood Assn. after a few hours of annoyances disturbed the tranquility of the day.]

This has been an exciting evening, well, by Crest standards anyway.

First, there were several reports of a noxious odor smell of methane, which began around 4:30 this afternoon. It was centered around the Crest side of the Flaxton and Whitburn area.

Called AQMD (1.800.CUT SMOG). They came out but, unfortunately, we haven't heard back from them about the source of the odor.

We will follow up.

Second, there was a stray dog running loose on Ranch, near Tellefson. We finally cornered him and we delivered him back to the address indicated on the dog tag.

Third, I imagine you all had a couple of power surges this evening. If you’re reading this email Monday night, you’re one of the fortunate ones. Three transformers at Sony blew out, causing fires and blackouts. It is reported that the east side of Overland is dark from Sony to the College. Also, some homes on the Crest have been blacked out (particularly on Cranks that I know of). I contacted the power company, but they couldn’t tell me when everything would be back to normal. I will keep on top of that.

Hopefully the rest of the evening goes well. Here's an opportunity to wish all of our Crest neighbors a very happy Thanksgiving. Be safe
