I am voting for Christopher Armenta for state Assembly in the 54th District on Dec. 3 because he has the experience and qualifications for the job.
He spent over 10 consecutive years as an elected official in Culver City serving as City Clerk, Council member and mayor. He did an excellent job during those years. He was respectful, ethical, a team player and dedicated. I had the impression that he was self-made. He earned his good reputation and respected name because of hard work.
Experience counts. Mr. Armenta’s opponent, Sebastian Ridley-Thomas, recently boasted about all the things he had done in his 26 years.
But it is common knowledge that his work experience is pretty much limited to an internship with his famous father’s friend state Sen. Curren Price.
Representing the 54th District is a serious job that requires experience and maturity, which 26-year-old Mr. Ridley-Thomas cannot and does not have. Only Mr. Armenta has the necessary qualifications.
This is the first time Culver City has the chance to have a lifelong resident and neighbor serve in Sacramento. While he was an elected official in Culver City, Mr. Armenta concentrated on meeting the needs of Culver City people and not special interest groups like Monsanto, insurance companies and the oil companies.
I want him to represent my needs in Sacramento just as he did in Culver City and not be indebted to special interest groups, independent expenditure groups or family cronies.
