Voters are faced with a difficult choice next Tuesday.

Considering the financial mess the state of California finds itself in, it’s easy to understand why many people may be tempted to vote “no” on all ballot propositions.

While, after careful consideration, the two of us have decided which ones we are supporting, we are not writing to you to advocate for or against any particular measures.

We do want to ask, though, that as you go to the polls next Tuesday, you not base your vote solely on a desire to “send a message to Sacramento.” There is too much at stake.

The two of us are focused on maintaining the high level of service and excellent quality of life that Culver City residents enjoy.

We share a deep concern that the continuing state budget crisis will make it impossible to do so.

California and Culver City are at a crossroads. Think carefully about our future.

Mr. O’Leary and Mr. Malsin are members of the City Council.
