Re “Citizens Have Drilling Company in a Delay Mode at Least

You mention that Paul Ferrazzi, Suzanne DeBenedittis, Gary Gless, Ken Kutcher, and John Kuechle educated themselves in “scaring, if not beating, city hall.”

I would contend that these alarmist purveyors of junk science have taken over City Hall and are part of the political machine that is corrupting and destroying democracy in Culver CIty.

These “activists,” who are employing tactics right out of Saul Alinsky's playbook, are causing the city to lose millions of dollars in oil royalties in addition to wasting taxpayer money of over $1 million on a frivolous lawsuit against PXP.

They are using the “oil drilling issue” as a cynical means of gaining political control of the city. Anyone opposed to them, such as myself, is personally attacked and demonized. Unfortunately for them, it only makes me fight back harder.

I support environmentally safe oil drilling and raising the oil royalty tax and having dialogue with PXP about environmental concerns. Unfortunately, these opportunistic “activists” have caused the city and the drilling company to “lawyer up,”, not hold dialogue, and the only people benefitting from all this are the “sleazy” lawyers.

These activists are attacking a $1 million Environmental Impact Report and trying to scare the general public with “junk scientific evidence” about how the oil drilling companies are trying to kill them.

I have a copy of the Environmental Impact Report, which I will gladly show to anyone who comes to “Coffee Chats with Mr. Z” in front of the Starbucks across from City Hall on Sundays from 10 to noon.

Mr. Zirgulis, a candidate for the City Council who now has managed to promote is “Sundays with Mr. Z” three times this week., and it only is Wednesday, may be contacted at zirgulisr@yahoo.com
