[Editor’s Note: For the first time in a while, swim-team-time-sharing has flared at the Culver City Plunge, as explained in a letter yesterday. Petitioning coaches have carried their beef to Mayor Mehaul O’Leary in search of relief.]
Re “Manager Handing Over Pool to Team Santa Monica at Expense of Culver City Swimmers”
Dear Mayor O’Leary,
I hope you and your loved ones are well. We are not all that good at the Culver Plunge. We hope that we can meet with you. CC’d in this email are the first thirty of our two swim programs: CCSC (Culver City Swim Team for kids) and SCAQ for the adults. This email will then be relayed out to more than a hundred and twenty-one of our active swimmers or families.
This will be Culver City residents only. We have many different groups: SCAQ Mornings, SCAQ Noons, SCAQ Evenings and CCSC afternoons. There are an additional two hundred and fifty associate members — all Culver residents who are not active right now. We will not involve them.
The situation at the pool has basically created quite a few grievances on our part. We have a pool director changing agreements, playing favorites, overcharging, not answering emails/questions, and not being responsive to what past pool directors have provided for the facility.
We are anxious to meet, please just tell us when. How about we pack your bar for a get together?
