We would like to let you know that the whole neighborhood — we have lived on our street for 34 years — is up in arms over a letter we received from the Planning Commission last Saturday.
They are planning to issue a permit to Cash 'n' Carry to allow them to put on top of their roof a T-Mobile microwave receiver and transmitter.
We who live in this area and own homes are very much afraid of the consequences of this action.
I personally have lived through microwave experience of my own.
I worked as a microwave technician for 28 years at Hughes Aircraft.
I have seen women and men of all ages come down with different types of cancer.
My own experience is that I was diagnosed with a meningioma brain tumor after I retired from Hughes.
The funny part about the whole experience was all my supervisors told me microwaves cannot hurt me.
Yet all around me, fellow workers came down sick with cancer.
If Cash 'N' Carry gets to put their plans in action, no one will be safe in this neighborhood from microwave radiation.
Microwave units which consists of 8 12-foot units will be going 24/7.
Most homes, as well as nearby El Rincon Elementary School, will be radiated.
The city doesn't know how much trouble they are getting into if they open this pandora’s box.
Anyone who lives in the area and comes down with cancer will have a class action suit against not only the city but against Cash 'N' Carry, too.
We have also contacted the City Council on this problem.
