Some good news regarding the Natatorium on the campus of Culver City High School.
Robert Smith and I met with CCUSD Supt. David La Rose and Asst. Supt. Mike Reynolds for information on the swimming pool.
We gave them a detailed report on our position on getting the Natatorium pool fixed.
We also gave them a copy of the proposed Request For Proposal (RFP) that would urge leasing the pool to an operator who would refurbish the pool and allow the school to use the pool for free in exchange for using the pool after school hours.
Hopefully, the School Board will look at the RFP, not study it to death and leave the Natatorium as a rotting shell, as it has been since 1991.
The good news is that Mr. La Rose said all the bird poop and garbage in the Natatorium is scheduled to be cleaned up over the summer.
I will be proposing that we have a Candidates Forum in the cleaned up Natatorium in late September.
