I have worked in Culver City for 16 years now, and this weekend I am doing a fundraiser at Menchies for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Three years ago, my daughter Jetty was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Since then, we have taken part in the JDRF Walk every year.
This will be our fourth year, and we hope to reach our goal of $4,000.
I am doing fundraisers here and there to hopefully reach our goal.
Jetty takes great pride in raising money for JDRF. On top of being a Type 1 diabetic, poking her fingers 7 times a day to check her sugar and doing 4 insulin shots a day, she is one amazing softball player. She attends Culver Middle School and made the varsity softball team and is on the Culver City Fastpitch 12U All-Star Team as well. Her team took second place in the West Grove Tournament this past weekend, and she pitched all five games to take her team to the Championship Game.
She is an awesome kid… lol
Below is the link to her page.
JDRF has been great with support for our family, so we would like to show our support to them.
It is going to be a hot weekend.
What better way to stay cool than by supporting a great cause? This weekend, today through Sunday, Menchies in Culver City, 5622 Sawtelle Blvd., will be donating 20 percent back to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) on behalf of Team Jetty. You must present a flyer to cashier.
