Dateline Dayton — Here is a solution to what President Obama is calling an American problem.

Let's do away with all police departments and law enforcement agents.

Since there will be no police, we could dispose of all jails and prisons. There would be no criminals.

This would allow us to end the court system.

Everyone would be free to do whatever he or she wanted.  This will solve the immigration problem.

In taking the above step, we could solve our problem in Washington. We would not need laws. Therefore, we would not need the Congress.  Each of us could take a day at being President, with the person serving on Friday getting the weekend, of whatever would be left of our country.

If we were not already there, we are heading to a lawless society.  Many believe they don't need to obey the law or a law enforcement officer.  If you have a gun, real or fake, and an officer asks you to put it down, you must do that. Otherwise, there will be consequences. There already have been, here, in Cleveland and elsewhere.

If you are doing something illegal, as determined by our folks in Washington, you are going to be arrested.  Resisting, there will be consequences and they could be deadly.

When a police officer asks you to stop while driving, walking, riding a bike, running, you must or suffer the consequences.

Americans must wake up to the fact that we have laws to protect all of the people. Everyone must obey them, not just some. people at some times.  Sure we all probably have sped at times. If caught, hopefully not due to an accident, we will suffer the consequences.

Sure there are bad police, just as there are bad people our town, our lives. The majority, though, are out there putting their lives on the line to protect us. They deserve our respect our thanks.

The action of five professional football players last Sunday was a disgrace to the game. They should be punished.  These players are not amateurs. They are paid big bucks and should not be allowed to make such a gesture while on the payroll, unless approved by the team. Maybe it was.

Professional sport is getting to be a sad joke, and the Ray Rice situation is another perfect example.  Professional sports could be the leader.

However, the true root of the problem lies in the breakdown of the family.
