With Rosh Hashana, the Jewish new year, starting this evening at 6:29 and continuing for the next 48 hours, when Shabbat begins, an appropriate prayer arrived from Diane and Herb Rosenberg (dianeherb713@msn.com), via their friend Jimmie Woods Gray (jnell47@aol.com):

Segulot

This is for those who believe in segulot, a  mystical Jewish formula for good mazel (luck), and who of us can't use that?

Please do not break.

Just 23 words.

“God our Father, walk through my house. Take away all my worries and illness. Please  watch over and heal my family … Amen.”

This prayer is so powerful. Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
