I Saw the Yellow

Yes. I finally saw yellow ink drain from the blocked print head.

Here I am waiting for the picture of Tarzan to print out, to see if my yellow ink will run freely. Here comes the paper now – it printed fine! I’m now removing my rubber gloves. I’ll have to print a few more Tarzans just to believe my own eyes.

Good – WHOOPS – the third picture lost its yellow ink. Uh-oh. Back to the bathroom sink.

First, let me tell you what sent me to the sink for the past hour or so.

I was looking online to find out how to unclog a print head. One company wrote they had what they called a “Magic Solution” to unclog any print head. That sparked a memory of what I did yesterday. I unclogged our bathroom sink, using a solution of a Drano-like product. I recall how it worked like magic when the water flowed freely down the drain.

At the sink, in my bowl of half-water and half-Drano-like solution, I placed a paper towel, and then the print head. Wearing rubber gloves, I jostled the print head up and down on the towel-soaked solution, watching as colors drained out. More yellow drained out. Good.

Now I’m printing out four Tarzan pictures. If I get three good ones, I will cheer. Four, and I will do a dance. This is fun.

Okay, here comes No. 1. Oops, the yellow ran out just at the end of page one.
Wife’s home.  I will soak the print head in my magic solution, and meet her in the kitchen.

I am back. I just stopped at the sink and changed the solution, since I wanted the solution to be clear, to see if any more yellow drained out. I jostled the soaking print head. No more yellow.

Great news! I just printed four pages of beautifully colored Tarzans. When I turn these Tarzans into pop-up cards, I shall remember my success of this day.
Dance, anyone?
