Denial Turns Out Desirably
As a result being denied a place in Westchester, my high school classmates and I came down the hill to the Culver City Democrats’ headquarters in the old Culver Hotel. There I first met and worked with two wonderful ladies named Rose Kortick and Trudy Cherness. I gave out information, stuffed envelopes, answered telephones and drove people to the poles to vote on Election Day. When I graduated from law school and moved back to Southern California, Rose Kortick found my house for me. She also commandeered me into the Culver City Democratic Club, where I eventually became president of the club, and later ran successfully for City Council. So, thank you, Howard Drollinger for introducing me to Culver City. That relationship has lasted beautifully for over 40 years.
