[Editor’s Note: Sunny, and relieved, congratulatory messages were crisscrossing Culver City this mornng following the huge victory of Measure EE, the parcel tax. Needing a two-thirds vote for passage, it attracted 74.5%. Dr. Janet Hoult, Culver City’s resident poetess, promptly penned a proper ribbon-and-bow thank you. Scott Zeidman, co-chair of the Yes on Measure EE campaign, appended a few comments, too.]
Culver City, Take a Bow
Hats off to you, Culver City
You’re entitled to take a big bow
You came through with ease
Voting in Measure EE
Schools and kids owe a big “Thank you” now
You’ve done it again, Culver City
And shown that you care about kids
You came through with the vote
And we all should take note
You did it with finances on the skids
You are really terrific, Culver City
I’m so glad that I live in this town
When it’s all said and done
You are most definitely number one
Once again, you didn’t let us down

Mr. Zeidman’s message read:
“As you all undoubtedly know, Measure EE passed last evening with a remarkable 74.5% of the vote. This is truly amazing, and I wanted to take this opportunity to thank each of you for all your support and assistance in the passing of Measure EE.
“When I look at the results of the two other Parcel Tax measures in Southern California (Long Beach failed with just 43.11% of the vote, and Oxnard failed with just 46.82% of the vote), I am reminded of what a fantastic community Culver City is.
“I am grateful to live in such a fantastic city. Thank you once again for all your assistance. This would not have been possible without your help.
