Dubby Hankin in 1979

Dubby Hankin with his family in Paris

Thirty-five years ago after I got out of the Army, I needed a job badly.

I went to work for Joe Miller Jam Productions. Dubby Hankins actually taught me the concert promotion business, when I lived in San Antonio.

My daughter Ramla was born at Ft. Hood.

In those days, I was a young black R&B and rock and roller, doing concerts in the 1970s and ‘80s. We did the Commodores, Rick James, Earth Wind and Fire, Michael Jackson, Lakeside, and many others.

One of my secrets finally is out.

Now you know how I actually turned my concert skills into politics.

My friend Dubby Hankin, taught me a lot about concert promotions.

We talked yesterday for the first time since 1979.

He might be coming to California. If so, I plan on helping him on what ever he needs.

Dubby is the new proud limited part- owner of two famous restaurant bars, Tacos and Tequila, in Dallas and San Antonio.

(Pack your bags. We are bound for Dallas and San Antonio for official taste testing.)

Dubby has two lovely daughters who live here. Molly lives near my son Michael. Wow. His other daughter is a singer who just passed the Texas state bar.

Molly is a well-known blogger and writer. She does electronic entertainment, right up my alley.  http://ifoundmolly.com/   Her first blog episode starts today. She, too, does breaking news, just like me. Wow.

Everyone knows I need help writing. Smile.

This brings me to my point: I need one of our real estate people to call me so that Dubby can find a house in L.A. or Sherman Oaks.

I will do anything to help my friend of 35 years, who helped me back in the day, even if it is a temporary stay in California.

If Dubby comes, I sure hope he opens up one of his famous restaurants here. We need it, Texas-style. Dubby’s entertainment knowledge, connections and skills will be deeply appreciated by Southern Californians.

Remember Veterans never leave a man or woman behind. Help me locate a house for my friend Dubby Hankins, promoter, singer, band owner, restaurateur.

PS Dubby when you get here don't give up any Rock and Roll secrets-Smile. Your Friend!!!
