Mike Feuer’s recuperation from a serious car accident on Dec. 3, more than six weeks ago, is going much slower than expected.

Major contributors to his campaign for Los Angeles City Attorney against incumbent Carmen Trutanich are refusing to throw good money after bad after seeing the most recent sagging poll numbers.

In short: Mr. Feuer's campaign is on life support.

So Plan B is being activated by Team Feuer. It calls for Mr. Feuer to come back by running for Zev's seat on the County Board of Supervisors.

Zev Yaroslavsky already has agreed to endorse Mike, and Mr. Feuer will blame his big loss to Carmen on the auto accident that pulverized his spleen. By the way, that's actually true…partially!

First, they have to get rid of “Zelda” from the really old Dobie Gillis television show, Ms. Sheila Kuehl, who already has announced  her candidacy for Zev's Supervisor seat.

Sorry, Sheila.

Zev's seat is just about all that is left of the once mighty Waxman-Berman Political Machine. That raggedy seat must be held onto!

Zelda easily can be removed from competition against Mike by a judgeship.

Gov. Brown is being asked to appoint her in exchange for huge Westside contributions to his 2014 gubernatorial re-election race. Sheila is a natural…after all, she's a Harvard Law School grad. After 14 years in the state Legislature, Sheila was termed out in 2008.

When the fog of election lifts, you will find Supervisor Feuer and Judge Kuehl  still standing plus Democrat Party unity remaining intact!

The Los Angeles Times is sworn to secrecy on the above.
