[img]1862|right|John Walsh||no_popup[/img]City Atty. Mike Feuer must reprimand his Dep. City Atty. Dion O'Connell for ensnaring himself in the sexual harassment scandal emanating from the stained-carpeted passageways of Los Angeles City Hall.
Mr. O’Connell, it is said, gave Councilman Mitch Englander's Chief Legislative Deputy, Mr. Doug Tripp, free legal advice to protect Mr. Tripp from any accusations of failure to report incidences of verbal degradation aimed at women under his authority on Councilman Englander's staff.
It is said he also took free legal advice from Mr. O'Connell regarding how Mr. Tripp himself can escape being questioned in the multiple investigations (civil and criminal) these sexual harassment accusations have triggered and will trigger.
Mr. O'Connell, must please keep in mind that he is merely the civil attorney for the City of Los Angeles…not the criminal attorney for public officials of the City of Los Angeles in hot water. Nor is he the criminal attorney for high-ranking employees of the City of Los Angeles facing indictment.
On the other hand, the Office of City Attorney continues to turn down flat all pleas from female employees (past and present) for legal advice and support…specifically those who found themselves working under allegedly potty-mouthed Councilman Englander as well as those female employees working under amateur-Don Juan-at-City-expense) Mr. Councilman Jose Huizar.
Mr. Huizar is similarly accused of sexual-harassment that may still be taking place there as well as at other City Hall Councilmanic offices that perhaps see more sexual action than all of the city's gay bath houses combined.
Mr. Tripp is a percipient witness to the alleged sexual harassment now under city investigations. Mr. O' Connell may be observed partying heartily with Mr. Tripp in the eyebrow-raising photo accompanying this report.
Note that both of them can also be seen in the photo below rubbing their shoulders against Ms. Becca Doten's chest. She is a rookie LAPD cop who was inexplicably chosen by Mayor Eric Garcetti to head L.A.'s version of Homeland Security.
Is Ms. Doten simply pretending to enjoy Mr. O'Connell's alleged advances? Or is she exhibiting a brave front? Study carefully the expression on her face for clues.
Like the plague, Mr. O'Connell should have studiously avoided any contact, social or otherwise, with his personal friend City Official Tripp.
Ultimately, Mr. Feuer is responsible for this legal ethics mess.
The buck stops in Mr. Feuer's well-tailored lap.
The State Bar is left to sort out this outrageous entanglement.
