Away from the clamor of taxis,
And the white noise of ambition;
You hear their silenced voices,
Surging above the din.

In the Brief instant
Between reverie and reality;
You glimpse their shadows,
Rising from the remains.

Pausing on the quay,
Motionless in river’s breeze
You swallow their ache,
Swelling amid your grief.

Tears welling,
The congregation urges forward;
A man with a camera jostles you,
And the moment fades.
