Unleashed, Liberal Journalists Behaving Like Catty Ex-Wives

Even if you never have met any members of the Catty Ex-Wives Society — frankly, I have collected a few — you have tasted their vulgarity, their venom and their savage viciousness if you have watched television, listened to the radio, read newspapers or combed the internet in the past 5 days.

Boy and girl liberals all over America, which covers 95 percent of working journalists, have been seething with kelly green jealousy.

No one this side of Camarillo has witnessed such unseemly behavior on the public airwaves. These far lefties, who spend their days mocking marriage, morality, families, virginity and honor now are spending their evenings openly ridiculing Republicans, especially Sarah.

He Used to be Unusual

The historic uniqueness of their Presidential candidate, Barack (Go Sarah) Obama, vanished than a mud puddle on a hot day.

He no longer can make such a claim alone. Sarah, who just magically appeared, will be every bit as historical of a figure if sensible Republicans win the White House.

The second most important effect of Sarah’s arrival is this:

It is as if Barack (Go Sarah) Obama suddenly turned into a white man.

This, of course, makes his empty resume feel as stale and unimpressive as it has been all along.

“Community organizing” is so insignificant of an achievement that it even pales beside Sarah’s modest resume.

I Am No. 2

Sarah, at least, has led a town, has commanded the biggest state in the union and has bravely faced down the biggest names in her party. By contrast, Barack (Go Sarah) Obama isn’t even the boss in his own home. You can take that to the bank, which is where he will be sleeping any night he makes the claim that he is other than No. 2.

Ironically, and some would say justifiably, Mr. Obama may be the person hurt most by the explosion of certifiably inane behavior by the boy and girl liberals who have been entrusted to deliver the news and responsible commentary, by spoken word and in print.

Will Americans react to the way that Mr. Obama has encouraged the firestorm against the Palin family with his left hand while holding up his right hand and saying, piously, “Tut-tut. I remain above the fray.”

The liberal kiddies have gone crazy with blind rage and jealousy in their embarrassing, hatchetman interviews, in their commentaries.

A Desperation Drive

They can’t believe their guy has been blown up by outside forces, has been forced to share his “historically unique” label with gosh, a woman of superior accomplishment.

These panicky far lefties can’t believe the brilliant but under-rated Johnny McCain took away their hole card. Mr. Obama’s one-way trip into the Presidential Hall of Fame may be delayed.

The mass, nationwide liberal tantrum in the media ignited the moment Mr. McCain announced Gov. Sarah Palin as his Vice Presidential nominee last Friday morning.

Since Sarah, the desperate media dudes on the extreme left have been acting like a 5-year-old kid trapped in the middle of a burning house. Over at CNN, which is puffing from years of chasing Fox News, Campbell Brown’s stunning attempt to intimidate the disciplined Tucker Bounds of the McCain staff in a Monday afternoon interview will haunt and hurt her as long as she does journalism.

Boo Bumiller

At The New York Times, another girl has had an awful week. Reporter Elisabeth Bumiller, a hateful gal assigned months ago to the McCain campaign, loathes Mr. McCain. She has been mercilessly tattooing Sarah since last Friday.

Unbelievably, this is what the petulant Ms. Bumiller, who believes the privacy of Democrats should be protected, wrote yesterday:

“The Palins eloped on Aug. 29, 1988, and their first son, Track, was born eight months later, a fact that Maria Comella of the McCain campaign declined to elaborate on.”

Ms. Bumiller clearly has a problem controlling her feelings and her visceral hatred of Republicans when she writes.

Won’t Pass This Way Again

The brazenness of our liberal friends in the media is not likely to be seen again, just as Charlie Manson did not kill again and Neil Armstrong did not keep making round trips to the moon.

Over at National Review Online, Yuval Levin spoke for many of us today when he wrote:

“I have never seen, and I admit that I could never have imagined, such shameful, out-of-control, frenzied, angry, condescending, and pathetic journalistic malpractice. The ignorant assault on Palin’s accomplishments and experience, the breathless, careless airing of deranged rumors about her private life, the staggeringly indecent mistreatment of her teenage daughter in a difficult time, the ill-informed piling-on about the vetting process, the self-intensifying circle of tsk’ing nodding heads utterly detached from a straightforward political event, have been amazing and eye-opening.”

As the now disgraced Rev. Jeremiah would say, “Do I hear an Amen?”
