In a shiveringly ironic political coincidence, Paulie Krugman, the child-sized columnist for The New York Times, and Ahmadinejad, the Smiling Dwarf, who has pointed a gun at the head of Iran, the country he runs, since being elected by the mullahs, are physically interchangeable.

They might have been brothers reluctantly pried apart at birth.

Pretty interesting since the bearded Mr. Krugman, a Jew, could have stood in for Mr. S. Dwarf at his Tehran mosque this afternoon. None of the devout Muslims would have noticed, or else Mr. Dwarf would have had them beheaded, which he might anyway.

In a further calorie-rich coincidence, they have identical runt-ranting Rumplestiltskin  temperaments and personalities.

You Can’t Look up to Them

Many or most men crave power. But these guys have turned craving into an art that some would admire. Historically, sub-sized men have been drawn to an almost irresistible attraction of the role of tyrant. Today’s Wonder Boys are no exception.

They would rather spill a bucket of outrage to gain attention than grow one more inch.

Both yearn to be demagogues when they grow up.

In the event that does not happen, the boys are practicing now, to the detriment of sensible people in both countries.

Mr. Krugman, inarguably, is a little gentleman in possession of gigantic and enviable mental equipment,  and he drools less than Mr. Dwarf.

Should you need evidence of Mr. Krugman’s unquestionable gravitas, consider this:

He seriously concluded 2 1/2 years ago, when he first heard of Swish Obama, that if Swish ever ascended to the White House, all criticism of Swish would be exclusively drained through a racist strainer.

And so it was written, and written, and written, from sea to shining sea and all hamlets in between by every liberal with a pencil.

As a twice-a-week columnist for the most influential print newspaper in America, while moonlighting as an economics professor at Princeton, Mr. Krugman was in position to seal his pledge with a journalistic death kiss, Mafia-style.

A Little Puzzling

And so we come to the left-wing conundrum of the present day:

How should an emotional liberal react to the spontaneous, grassroots outbursts in virtually every state against Mr. Obama’s healthcare reform bill that is so dense and boring that Swish himself refuses — that is correct — to read it, much less comprehend it?

Mr. Krugman, who may be in need of a shrink, and who may indeed have shrunk, is no shrinking violet.

In this morning’s column, he said Americans who attend town hall meetings to either question or oppose what is vaguely called Swish Obama’s healthcare bill are racists.

Ipso-facto, racists.

No investigation. No evidence. He said it, and that should  be sufficient.

Now you see why he is regarded as a little giant among little liberal people.

Sensitive to the time constraints of conservatives who lead prolific lives, Mr. Krugman respectfully chose not to share with us the arcane tactics he employed to reach this decision that sags beneath the weight of his self-ordained sagacity.

A Race to the Label Goal

As a demagogue, he lays only naked conclusions on us.

Of the healthcare reform opponents who have thronged town hall meetings in recent days, forcing liberal congressmen either to flee or to pre-cancel, the hateful Mr. Krugman adroitly concluded:

“They’re probably reacting less to what Mr. Obama is doing, or even to what they’ve heard about what he’s doing, than to who he is.”

This is a despicable conclusion by a despicable man, but, tragically, pedestrian fare for left-wing thinkers since Swish Obama ascended to the White House.

In modern times, liberals primarily have  been anti-intellectuals, relying exclusively on their considerable emotions for motivation. Mr. Krugman loyally hews to the paradigm. If you condemn the people with whom you normally would cordially disagree as “racist.” you have neatly eliminated any possibility of a debate because such persons have been irretrievably demeaned.

Therefore, you have made yourself invulnerable.

For the past 9 months, since Election Day, to the surprise of few, aggressively dividing Americans, setting them off against each other, has been the dedicated pastime of the Chicago-style thugs in and around the White House with whom Mr. Obama officially has surrounded himself.

The same is true of the overwhelming amen chorus of bully boys in the media who, simultaneously, adore the narcissistic President and are too intimidated to correct his frequent deviations and deceptions.

Spewing hate must have stunted Mr. Krugman’s growth, because he goes on to fume:

“That is, the driving force behind the town hall mobs is probably the same cultural and racial anxiety that’s behind the “birther” movement, which denies Mr. Obama’s citizenship. Senator Dick Durbin has suggested that the birthers and the health care protesters are one and the same; we don’t know how many of the protesters are birthers, but it wouldn’t be surprising if it’s a substantial fraction.”

Since his words are so chilling to the ears of the civilized, I presume Mrs. Krugman will throw an extra postage stamp-sized blanket over him tnight when she tucks him into bed in the litter box.
