Dateline Dayton — This coming Tuesday is a very important moment for our country, Election Day. It’s not just about who will be elected or what party will be in control. This day will determine what the future will hold for us, our children and, most importantly, our grandchildren.
It’s time we show the Obama administration that we don’t approve of the nonsense taking place in Washington.
We need to rid the halls of Congress of those involved in graft and corruption. The way it looks, such a sweep could take out most of them.
We need to send a message that lying is no longer going to be accepted, that we deserve the truth, and not the political re-edit that we are being fed.
We the people want what is best for our country, not what will benefit the pockets of the elect.
Get your shovel out. Remove the manure from the Senate.
No matter what the weather is or how we feel on Tuesday, it is extremely important that we exercise our privilege and vote.
You can participate in all the marches you want. Carry your political sign to most places (not funerals)/ Contribute to your political party or cause. But the only real way to accomplish change, is by voting.
If your Congressman or Congresswoman isn’t doing the job – vote him or her out.
If your senator isn’t voting the way you want – vote him or her out.
I realize that determining how to vote can be a hard decision. You don’t know if the other candidate will do any better than the incumbent. Could he or she be worse (if that is possible)? A change now will signal that we must have improvement, not more unemployment, not more government secrets, not more lies and especially no more free rides.
What our representatives believe is good for us should also be good for them. No double standards.
Here is a great saying I heard:
“Lie to Congress and go to prison.”
“Congresspersons lying to their constituents gets them reelected.”
It’s time for “We the People” to again take control of our country. It should begin on Tuesday.
