A little known secret amongst those who know me as a cellist is that I spent ten years in the corporate tech world working with software and websites. Maybe it is the weird math-music connection I have heard discussed for decades. Whatever it is, I truly enjoy computer-speak. I wouldn’t label myself an actual programmer. But as a result of my exposure (and insatiable curiosity), I know how to build basic systems and websites.

Getting Serious

The ironic thing is, while I have spent countless hours poring over other people’s projects, my own websites have always looked like glorified blogs. I have never taken the time to… well, I am embarrassed to say take my own web presence seriously. That is about to change.

Go to www.carterdewberry.com now and then a week from now. I am preparing to take my career up a notch. And I am showing it by doing what I know how to do for myself – not just others. I have my husband, Dennis, and this newspaper to thank. Dennis’s recent challenge to just DO it spurred me to action. The new features described as coming soon to this very site encouraged me to learn new skills to implement that will bring my website to a new level. Thank you to Dennis and Frederik for your inspiration.
