Jim Lamm, President of the Ballona Creek Renaissance, reminds us that the creek cleanups at Centinela ASenue will resume on Saturday, Jan. 21, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.

The most recent creek cleanup by BCR was on Saturday, Nov. 5, when more than 40 volunteers enjoyed a beautiful post-rain day along the natural-bottom portion of the creek that receives tidal flow.

Some 25 very large and full bags of trash were collected, including “a ton of Styrofoam cups” and a toy alligator.

Participants included members of L.A. Conservation Corp's Green Team passing bicyclists and walkers, young and old(er) folks from the nearby neighborhoods, and L.A. City Councilman Bill Rosendahl's field deputy Cecelia Castillo.

Mr. Lamm thanked the city, the County and BCR's event leaders David Valdez and Sandrine Cassidy Schmitt.
