Presumably out of overzealousness, he dispatched a copy (that was addressed to Mr. LaPointe) to this newspaper. Mr. LaPointe said yesterday he never has received any such email. As for Ms. Stratton, she said the author of the email kept his promise to her and forwarded the intended message to her for approval. But before I had a chance to open it, she said, the story showed up online in your newspaper. Ms. Stratton said the problem with the whole scenario was that a third party intervened. She declined comment on the contents of the email.
