Dateline Dayton — First an update on the fire west of Dayton that claimed the lives of two children: The mother has been indicted on six felony counts, four counts of involuntary manslaughter and two counts of endangering children.
You may recall this mother, using the term loosely, left her children while she went out drinking. When she returned home, it was afire. This is a perfect example of why we need education for every two individuals since it traditionally takes two to have children. The state fire marshal has not been able to determine how the fire started.
Another tragic example of irresponsible parenting currently in the news comes from Maryland. A father and his seven children died strangely. Since the family’s power had been shut off, the father purchased a generator, and he was running it in the house. I am sure there are warnings on the generator about not running it in close quarters.
Just another of many daily examples of people who need help with raising children. Requiring a license could provide the training and education future parents need to raise healthy, happy children The present system, whatever it is, is failing the children of this great land.
We get a book to study to get a driver’s license. Then we must take a test.
Aren’t children more important?
Don’t they deserve to be raised by persons who know what they are doing?
Lighter Side
Let’s go to a lighter subject, basketball.
Notre Dame almost beat Kentucky. I believe they lost due to God punishing them for allowing President Obama to speak at their university. Okay, that might be off the wall. I still believe Mr. Obama never should have been allowed to speak at Notre Dame.
By the way, that is how I started writing a weekly essay. I conveyed this message to Ari Noonan. “Why don’t you write an essay on a regular basis?” he said.
Wisconsin was able to spoil Kentucky’s perfect season. Kentucky was outplayed by Wisconsin, and they deserved to win, in spite of the announcers complaining about poor calls by the officials. I believe the John Caliperi, the Kentucky coach, should be fired due to the poor sportsmanship of his team. He should have made his team return to the floor to shake hands with Wisconsin. Poor leadership.
I was hoping the Notre Dame women could have won their basketball championship, but they lost to Connecticut. Oh, well.
