Sometimes it’s too scary to look up and see the vast expanse of forest looming ahead. At times like these, I keep my head focused on my next step.
Last week at this time I felt like I was jumping off a cliff. Today I feel like I am in the Amazon without a map.
Thankfully, in three days I will have completed this task one way or another. I will be done with my video shoot.
Little Things
In reality, I do have a map. I can list the things I need to do to ensure a successful shoot – re-hair my bow, change my cello strings, test record each piece every day, practice with my metronome, go to sleep early on Wednesday to wake up before dawn on Thursday to do yoga before making the drive to Hollywood.
These things, all small and completely manageable, somehow will add up to an incredible performance. It has worked in the past, and I have no reason to believe otherwise this time around.
As far as what could happen after the shoot, what opportunities may present themselves once Royer posts the videos on their website and they garner attention…that is another journey altogether. First I need the video…which means it’s time to get back in the studio and record.
