Maybe I am the cause of all the Southern California summer gloom. At the least, I know I have been more moody the last few months than since when I was trying to finish my doctorate.
“A rags to riches tale soaked in blood.”
This is the one-sentence description of the gothic thriller film I just finished scoring, recording and producing. The film title itself is foreboding enough – At Knife’s Edge… as if I need to wonder why I have felt back in the travails of adolescence.
The amusing part is that as I type, I remember writing a similar article in the middle of winter as I was immersed in scoring the project. One would think I would learn…
Only yesterday, as I hit “upload” for the last time, did I realize that I was really DONE producing my film score… and that the sun was shining. It has been shining ever since.
If any of you are interested in the product of my personal gloom, you can listen to the entire soundtrack here:

I’ve decided my next project will be HAPPY music… or at least mostly so. Stay tuned!
