I had to laugh when the girls came backstage and addressed me as Taylor Swift. It’s funny in this world how the biggest compliment one can think to bestow comes in the form of a comparison (however odd) to a star.

I met my personal goal, interacting with over 1,000 students from age 6 to 26 in the past two weeks. This is in addition to my half-dozen public performances.

In my whirlwind trip, I set out to inspire a new generation to discover new ways in which to express themselves, to unlock the passion that will sustain them in the lonely practice room to develop their craft, and to show them that anything is possible given enough focus and determination.

I sold out of my CDs, and my inbox is overflowing with friend requests for Facebook and MySpace. I take this as an indicator that my message reached at least some. While I wouldn't consider myself famous, I do consider my trip a success.
