City Council candidate Dr. Luther Henderson, who will inaugurate a series of Meet and Greet events on Saturday afternoon at Fox Hills Park, today was endorsed by former Culver City Mayor Ed Wolkowitz for election to the City Council on April 8.
“I have been quite impressed with Luther’s decision-making abilities as a member and chairperson of the Cultural Affairs Commission,” Mr. Wolkowitz said.

Former Mayor Ed Wolkowitz, left, with Dr. Henderson.
“I've also worked with Luther on the Chamber of Commerce. Legislative Committee. And I have every confidence he will be a voice
of reason and intelligence on the City Council.”
In addition, School Board member Steve Gourley has added his name to the list of Culver City voters endorsing the longtime Los Angeles City College professor.
“Luther will be a breath of fresh air on the City Council,” Mr. Gourley said. “Culver City is fortunate to have someone with his vision and intellect running for the Council. Luther will make decisions based on what is good for Culver City now and 20 years from now.”
In recent weeks, Dr. Henderson has been endorsed by County Supervisor Yvonne B. Burke, former Mayor Albert Vera and U.S. Rerp. Diane E. Watson (D-Culver City).
In announcing Saturday’s Meet and Greet event — from 2 to 4 o’clock — at Fox Hills Park, 6161 Buckingham Pkwy., Dr. Henderson said guests will be able to recognize him because he will be the one with the hat, doing the cooking.
