Karen Bass on their overwhelming re-elections on Tuesday night. All are Democrats in a region with phone booth-sized Republican registration.
“It is helpful to Culver City to have elected representatives at the state and federal level who are familiar with our community,” Mr. Weissman said.
“The three of our elected have represented Culver City long enough to understand our needs.

In commending freshman Mr. Ridley-Thomas, community activist Laura Stuart said that as she has come to know him better during his first year in the state Legislature, “he is a smart guy who is passionate about Culver City. Sebastian was a big help to (the Exchange Club) in putting on the Fourth of July fireworks at West L.A. College.
“He is young, energetic, and he wants to engage our entire community.”
Former Councilman Scott Malsin, now a Ridley-Thomas aide, said the Assemblyman was the driving force behind eight bills Gov. Brown signed into law.
“He has proven himself a very effective legislator, and remember this is just his first year,” Mr. Malsin said.
