Volunteers Sought for 7 Seats on Bond Oversight Board

The School Board today is seeking qualified, interested persons to serve on a committee of community leaders that will serve as the Independent Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee for the implementation of the District’s Measure CC school facilities bond program.

Applications are being accepted for 10 more days, until 4:30 on Friday, Oct. 17.

Late applications, says the School District, may not be accepted.

Initial appointments will be staggered. Some appointees will serve one full two‐year term. Others will serve for one year, but they will be eligible for reappointment by the School Board for a second and third two‐year term.

The chosen persons will be expected to strictly adhere to the provisions of the Committee Ethics Policy
Statement and to attend a Brown Act / AB1234 (ethics) training at a date and time to be determined.

The following constituencies are to be represented:

• Business representative.
• Senior citizen group representative.,
• Taxpayer organization member.
• Parent or guardian of a child enrolled in the School District.
• Parent or guardian of a child enrolled in the District and active in a parent‐teacher organization.
• Two at‐large community members.

Appointments are tentatively scheduled to be considered by the School Board at the meeting of Tuesday, Oct. 28.
