The Fiesta La Ballona committee is finalizing plan's for next month's Fiesta, slated for the weekend of Aug. 27-28-29.
On Friday night the 27th, the Fiesta opens with Early-Bird Specials from some of the weekend's food vendors and music by Danny Bargen & Friends. This will be followed by FiestaPalooza, featuring teen groups Stereo Union, Paper Rain, Static and Jessarae.
Saturday’s festivities will open with the Police Dept. K-9 demonstration. Featured on Saturday are Disco Fever, Bob's Yer Uncle and Saturday Night Swing with the Jumpin' Joz Band and the Todd Elliott Dancers.
Sunday music will showcase perennial favorite Susie Hansen's Latin Band and last year's very popular Lisa Haley and the Zydekats.
Of course the weekend wouldn't be complete without the carnival rides, lots of food, the Community Stage, the pony rides and petting zoo.
The Fiesta committee still is looking for volunteers to help with the last-minute details.
Those who are interested in helping behind the scenes should come to the Fiesta planning meeting on Tuesday, July 20, 7 o’clock, at the Vets Auditorium, in the Iksan room.
