The application period today has opened for the City Council’s three nominees for one voting seat on the Baldwin Hills Conservancy’s Board of Directors.
The Board consists of 13 voting members and seven nonvoting members. The person appointed by Gov. Brown’s office will serve a two year term, starting in September.
The Conservancy mission is to “acquire open space and manage public lands within the Baldwin Hills area, and to provide recreation, restoration and protection of wildlife habitat within the territory for the public’s enjoyment and educational experience.”
The Conservancy has a board to guide staff and fulfill the mission.
Applications will be accepted by the City Clerk’s Office until 5 p.m., Friday, Aug. 1. Late applications may not be accepted.
City Council discussion regarding these nominations is tentatively scheduled for Monday, Aug. 11.
Additional information and applications are available in person during business hours from the City Clerk’s office, on the first floor of City Hall, 9770 Culver Blvd. Information also is available on the city website, www.culvercity.org. City Hall is open from 7:30 to 5:30 on weekdays, but will be dark on Friday, July 25.
