Sip for Our Schools, the fourth annual wine tasting event of the Culver City Education Foundation, was a huge success last Saturday.

The evening was a sampling of entertaining music, appealing wines and beer tastings, accompanied by appetizers and desserts.
More than 200 community persons participated.
Upon entering The Redd Collection in Culver City, guests were welcomed by the music of the Culver City High School AVPA Jazz CVombo.
A panoramic inspection of the room presented a microcosm of the community, mixing and enjoying each other’s company.
City Council members and their partners were among the guests, joined by Mayor Andy Weissman and his wife Doneil.
School Board President Karlo Silbiger, School Board members Laura Chardiet and Kathy Paspalis, and Asst. Supt. Eileen Carroll were prominently spotted among the crowd.
Culver City businesses made significant contributions – City Tavern supplied craft beers, The Point provided a table of appetizers, desserts were served from Mama Gold’s.
ATS Cloud, Cakettes (Benchmark Foods), and Heather Coombs Perez and Art Perez of Heather & Art Realtors were event sponsors.
Trustees from the Education Foundation poured flights of wine ranging from Sauvignon Blanc to Cotes du Rhone, which seemed to please a wide range of wine lovers.
In addition the owners of The Redd Collection, Michael Carpenter and Todd Ziman, featured a tasting of premium wine flights while offering their knowledge to those gathered at the bar.
The Education Foundation is Celebration its 30th anniversary in the community, with the intended goal of enriching students in the School District through community and business donations and support.
Foundation leaders said the evening triumphed as a “friendraiser,” bringing together the School District, businesses and community members to launch a new school year in a spirit of unity.
