The School Board will meet in special session tomorrow morning at 10:30 in the Board Room on Irving Place, but President Scott Zeidman does not expect to make an announcement that a new Superintendent has been agreed upon.

“I can’t imagine a scenario where we could announce our next Superintendent. So many details are involved before we get to that point.”

Then why meet?

“Because we have to take the next step towards choosing a Superintendent,” he said.

“If we vote for a Superintendent tomorrow, and agree on someone, that is just the beginning.

“The next step is for the five of us to figure out if we are going to offer a salary plus benefits or a total package, how ever we are going to do that.

“Then we have to come to an understanding of what the offer is going to be worth.

“Then we have to get this to our attorneys in contract form. And then we have to go to negotiations with the potential candidate.

“When everything is agreed upon, and I am not sure if the contract has to be signed first, only then,” said Mr. Zeidman, “can we announce the new Superintendent.”
