Funeral services for community activist Toby Rubenstein, who died yesterday, will be held at 12 noon on Sunday at Hillside Memorial Park.
She was the wife of fellow activist Neil Rubenstein, and for many years they formed a popular team in Culver City politics. Together, the Rubensteins were in the forefront of prominent volunteers with the Democratic Club.
Friends emphasized two characteristics about the couple:
“Neil and Toby were very, very private, and Neil was completely, I mean completely, dedicated to Toby,” several persons agreed.
“Toby was Neil’s life,” said another.
About seven years ago, Mrs. Rubenstein became ill and largely withdrew from public life.
She suffered a massive stroke late last week, and she died at 11 a.m. yesterday at Marina Hospital.
