The School District has hired the District's elementary assistant principal, Amy Anderson, as the new principal at Lin Howe School, effective July 1.

Ms. Anderson is currently the District's sole elementary assistant principal, assisting principals at the five elementary schools. In that role, she has planned, organized and directed operations at each school site. She won’t have far to travel since the District office and Howe are next door to each other.

"Amy has been instrumental in revising the school site plans and the emergency plans at each school,” said District Supt. Myrna Rivera Coté. "Amy has built positive working relationships with stakeholders throughout the District, and that experience will definitely benefit the students, parents and staff at Lin Howe."

In her previous role, Ms. Anderson attended school site council meetings, PTA meetings, Back-to-School Nights and Open Houses at each school.

" Amy started her teaching career in our district," Dr. Coté said. “So she is familiar with the standards we expect.”

Ms. Anderson began her career in education as a sixth-grade math teacher at the Middle School.

In addition to serving as a team leader and math department chairperson, she was an active member of the school site council and served as both the GATE coordinator and the cheerleading coach.
