Accompanied by Mike Reynolds, assistant superintendent for business, and School Board member Sue Robins,  these were the ambitious topics that Dave LaRose promised to cover at the DoubleTree by Hilton:

“My focus will be to highlight our process leading up to where we are today.

“A comprehensive needs assessment, School Board work study sessions, public opinion polls, dozens of community meetings, creating a Master Facility Plan, enlisting a great financial and facility team, and ongoing projects.

“My goal will be to highlight the thorough and inclusive approach to better quantifying and articulating our needs.

“I will reference the Master Facility Plan as a critical document for guiding our work ahead within three critical themes: safety, security, health and wellness; the technological infrastructure to standardize learning spaces for 21st century skills; and highly effective, high- performing learning environments.”

With a $106 million school bond measure on the June primary election ballot, Mr. Reynolds will speak to the basics of a bond, this bond and the capital projects work of past, present and future.

Ms. Robins, elected to the Board four months ago, will speak to her personal experience as a former teacher at the Middle School, the connection between facilities and teaching/learning and the importance of modernization for college and career readiness.
