On Tuesday, July 26, Amanda Copeland addressed the School Board. After she introduced herself, Ms. Copeland said: “I’m here to bring public awareness to the unlawful and corrupt conduct of this School Board and CCUSD Supt. Patricia Jaffe…”

At that point, Board President Scott Zeidman interrupted Ms. Copeland and read the Board’s civility policy, which has been in effect since the last century.

After Mr. Zeidman finished, Ms. Copeland repeated her opening sentence, at which point Mr. Zeidman asked for her microphone to be turned off.

Seven letters to the newspaper followed. One suggested that Ms. Copeland had broken the law.

Ms. Copeland was not in violation of the law, but only a Board policy. The Board policy will be addressed and likely modified at the next meeting, Tuesday, Sept. 13.
