Dear A.C.E. Family,

For those of you who were unable to attend Tuesday night’s “special” School Board meeting, let me assure you there was nothing special about it in any good sense of the word.

The Board made the following cuts:

Instructional Materials Clerk (Secondary IMC).

Locksmith.

HVAC Technician.

Security Guard (8 hour/11months) Vacancy.

Account Clerk III (D.O./Dept. of Special Programs).

The Board made the following reductions:

3 Library Media Clerks (FR, ER and LB), reduced from 7 hours to 5 hours.

2 Budget Secretaries (HS and Adult School), reduced from 12 months to 11 months.

1 Secretary II (Adult School), reduced from 12 months to 11 months.

1 Food Services Supervisor, reduced from 12 months to 11 months.

1 Maintenance Foreman, reduced from 12 months to 11 months.

The following were spared:

3 Secretary III positions slated for reduction in months from 12 to 11 (HS, MS and Adult School).

The following will be revisited at a future date:

22 Instructional Assistant Positions paid for from various categorical funding sources. (This category did not include any Special Education assistants)

Security Dept. Restructuring Proposal. (The Board president asked for new proposals to be submitted for board consideration)

We meet today with the District for negotiations. We will keep you posted. If you have any questions or concerns, please e-mail me at antiquer01@aol.com
