For the 15th season of the Summer Music Festival, it has been a long and happy journey from the ever-popular Ricardo Lemvo and Makina Loca, with their hot Afro-Cuban salsa sounds, two months ago, down to tonight’s smashing finale at 7 o’clock in the Courtyard of City Hall.
This night will be a swinging tribute to the culture of Southern California.
Producer Gary Mandell says, straight away, that the feature attraction, the Surf City All-Stars, “are the best surfin’ beach party band around.
“The All-Stars bring you all the Beach Boys‘ hits,” Mr. Mandell says, “because most of the band members have toured or recorded with the Beach Boys.
“Their vocals are awesome. The All-Stars are Gary Griffin on keyboards (Beach Boys, Jan & Dean), David Logeman on drums (Jan & Dean, Beach Boys) and Don Raymond on guitar/bass (Ventures, Jan & Dean).
