State Sen. Curren D. Price Jr. (D-Culver City) announced today that more than  300 turkeys were distributed to hometown non-profit organizations for low-income families throughout  his Westside district.

City Hall officials joined Sen. Price in the pre-Thanksgiving Day event at Vets Park.

Operation Gobble is a joint venture of the Golden State  Water Co. and California American Water.

Every Thanksgiving California water companies team with state legislators to deliver 30,000 turkeys to low-income families.

Sen. Price also has partnered with the non-profit organization  Positive Results Corp. to distribute more than $1,000 in gift cards donated by grocery chains along with Bunnin Chevrolet, the  Culver Palms Methodist Church, the Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services and the Culver City Housing Agency.

““Hopefully,” said Sen. Price, “this will raise the issue of hunger in California. It is important we do what we can to help neighbors in need during the holiday season.”
