The YES on EE committee, supporting the proposed $96 a year parcel tax to aid the School District,  is promoting a Community Day for EE on Saturday  afternoon at 12:30 in the area of Veterans  Park, behind the Vets Auditorium

Organizers are hoping to attract upwards of 100 volunteers to canvass Culver City with flyers, lawn signs and information on the parcel tax proposal, Measure EE, on the  Nov. 3 ballot.

Parents, School District employees and community members are welcome to join in to help spread the word about Measure EE.

The volunteers will meet at the Armory parking lot at Vets Park.

Absentee ballots for the election will be mailed on Oct. 5.

“Community Day for EE” volunteers hope to reach these voters before they cast their absentee ballots.  In Culver City, as many as 50 percent of the vote via absentee ballot.

School Board member Scott Zeidman said, “We realistically need about 100 volunteers, committee members, CCUSD staff members to go door to door to likely voters and urge them to support Measure EE and to cast their vote for the Measure as well.

“If we can hit our target number of volunteers, we can canvass the city in two hours or less.”

Mr. Zeidman said there will be a brief group training period before the canvassing starts.

When it’s over, everyone is invited to the Zeidman house at 4 o’clock for hamburgers, hot dogs and relaxation.

Volunteers should email Mr. Zeidman at Scott.Zeidman@LASlots.com, or call him at 310.925.8207.

Measure EE is supported and endorsed by the Culver City Democratic Club, the Culver City Chamber of Commerce, the Culver City Teachers Union, the Culver City Council PTA, the City Council, the School Board, six former Culver City mayors, Friends of the Culver City Youth Health Center, Advocates for Language Learning.
