After meeting with all nine City Council candidates, the Police Officers Assn. announced its endorsement this week of Mehaul O’Leary, Loni Anderson and Andy Weissman for the April 8 election.

“Our association feels strongly that these three candidates will best direct Culver City’s promising future,” said Rick Nielsen, president of the union. “They’re all community leaders and business people who understand the importance of funding city services through increased investment in our city.”

Seven weeks from today, voters will choose from nine candidates to fill three open seats on the City Council.

Traditionally, the Police Officers Assn. endorses only those candidates believed to be the strongest supporters of law enforcement, candidates who understand the importance of protecting citizens, property and quality of life.

“As always, our main concern is the public’s safety,” said Mr. Nielsen. “We firmly believe O’Leary, Anderson and Weissman will work to ensure that all our residents and business owners get the police protection they deserve.”
