“Let’s all LEAD Downtown forward by celebrating St. Patrick’s a few days early” says his campaign, a play on the four letters, l-e-a-d. “Mayor O’Leary offers voters his record of Leadership for the community, his Environmental record of accomplishment, his Action with innovative ideas for working within the City Council for productive community results, and especially being democratic with a small “d” in always listening to Culver City residents.”
Mayor O’Leary recently gained endorsements from the Culver City Employees Assn., the Culver City Firefighters Assn., the Culver City Chamber of Commerce, the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters and the California Board of Realtors.
Candidate: Jim Clarke
Jim Clarke, candidate for one of four open seats on the Culver City City Council, has landed two new endorsements.
One is from the Culver City Employees Assn., which represents the majority of city workers. This week, Mr. Clarke was endorsed by the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters, a leading voice of the region’s environmental community.
“I am encouraged by the broad range of support I have received from the community at large,” Mr. Clarke said. “I love Culver City. I know I can make a difference.”
A resident since the 1970s, he is director of grants for Mayor Villaraigosa of Los Angeles.

Candidate: Scott Malsin
Mr. Malsin's candidacy for returning to the City Council in the April 10 election has been endorsed for the third time by the Culver City Firefighters Assn.
“There's no debate about it,” Mr. Malsin said. “Culver City's firefighters are the best.
“They do the tough work. I'm happy to have been able to support them as best I can as a member of the Council.”
In making their announcement, the firefighters remarked on the transition ahead: 25 percent of the workforce has less than five years' experience, and 10 to 14 members are eligible for retirement in the next two years.
Their press release said they are “looking for a Council who will continue to support our current level of service to the community. [Mr. Malsin has] the commitment and experience necessary to navigate the city through the very serious economic challenges ahead.”
Last Saturday, Mr. Malsin joined fellow candidates Andy Weissman and Mayor Mehaul O'Leary at the Culver City Little League's Opening Day.
“It was great to see so many of my daughter's friends out in the sun smiling and having fun,” Mr. Malsin said.
He continues to walk the neighborhoods of Culver City, talking to voters about the importance of the election.
