Mr. Layana
A funeral Mass will be said on Friday morning at 11 at St. Augustine Catholic Church for Matt Layana. His sudden death on Tuesday of last week is mourned by family and friends. He was 56 years old.
Born in Westchester, Jan. 29, 1957, Mr. Layana grew up in Culver City and lived here the rest of his life.
Matthew Francis Layana attended Farragut Elementary, Culver City Junior High and Senior High School, and is a graduate of Long Beach State University.
Mr. Layana is predeceased by his brothers Michael and Tim.
He is survived by his parents Frank and Carol Layana, two sisters, Melinda Toth and Nancy Affinito, brothers Nick (Sandi), and John (Jamie), sister-in-law Tracey Layana, and nieces and nephews Gina Ciurilizza (Nick), Nicholas Affinito, Caroline Toth, Nicole, Kelsie, Collin, Jenna, Kyle, Amy and Carley Layana. He was a great uncle to Reilly and Emmett Ciurlizza. He also leaves a large family of aunts, uncles and cousins.
After Friday’s funeral Mass, lunch will be served at the Layana home on Rhoda Way.
